Biography
Harry's darts career started at 9 years of age when, inspired by watching Phil Taylor, he hit nine 180's on his birthday using his first proper dartboard.
At 12, he joined the Unicorn Petersfield Darts Academy and in December 2010
he won the "Senior Player of the Year Award". As a result of this, Unicorn's David Broughton presented Harry with a prestigious Generation 180
place. Being just 14 years old, this made Harry the youngest player in
Team Unicorn's history to receive the Generation 180 contract. At present he is still Team Unicorn's youngest member.
Harry also started playing in his local Bognor Regis Darts Leagues, and within five games, again at just 12 years of age, he was asked to play in the Sussex Superleague for Littlehampton A.
Harry's first senior darts tournament was the Worthing Open in 2009 where he reached the semi-finals, much to the surprise of many seasoned county players who had never seen Harry before. As a result of this, he was asked to play for Sussex Youth through whom he has twice qualified for the regional Winmau play-offs, and also the British Teenage Open in 2011.
In 2010 Harry reached the quarter-finals of the England Youth Open at Selsey and over the past year Harry has won five Youth Open tournaments on the trot, at Lancing, Roffey and Worthing. In July 2011 Harry won the 6th Andover U15 Youth Open Singles (Arron Monk won the U21 event - both being
Team Unicorn players!).
Harry uses a 23gram Unicorn dart designed for him by Alex Ross at Unicorn. He has a commitment to daily darts practice and keeping himself physically fit by running with his dad, since this is something his darting idol Phil
Taylor has always advocated as a recipe for success.
Harry realises that he is very fortunate to have Unicorn's expertise and support to help him achieve his ultimate goal of a successful career in darts.
On a final note he would like to thank the following for their continued support. Chris Skinner and all the coaches at UPDA, Ian and Roger Hackett of Bognor Darts League, Andy Hills of Littlehampton A Superleague Team and everyone at Sussex County Darts and lastly Lou Severe for his kind sponsorship.
