At 15-years-old, Dan became the youngest recipient of Generation 180 awarded by Andover Darts Academy. But from the age of 10 he was playing darts at home & he soon became apparent that he had a talent.
He started playing competitive Darts at a local Sports & Social club where each week he would play adults and normally beat them. At 13 he made his first appearance on the county stage playing for Berkshire but has since join Hampshire County Youth where he has been involved in back to back Under 18 title wins 2010 & 2011. He also represented the South verves the North of England in 2011.
In November 2008 he joined the Andover Darts Academy which has produced several top youngsters. In February 2009 Dan won the Walton on the Naze Youth Open, his first competition win. Dan was beginning to be noticed and started playing in the Andover Super League on Tuesday Night with Hampshire’s Team Captain Kev Ede and former PDC player Sam Rooney, where they have been at the Top of the League in winter and summer since.
Dan team up with Harriet Raynesford from the Academy in January 2010 in the Mixed Doubles where they both played well to reach the final, only to lose to 2 Hampshire Players Sam Rooney & Charlotte Burgess. In the Summer of 2010 Dan won the Summer League singles defeating Hampshire County Players Ben Simpson and Mark Thorne to take his first win in Andover Senior competition.
The best was yet to come and after winning the Academy 701 singles in 2009 Dan repeated the feat in 2010, also winning the Handicap singles and The Captain’s Player of the Year. The award of Generation 180 was then awarded to Dan and was presented by Unicorn’s Managing Director Edward Lowy.
Dan uses a 26gm unicorn Dart and he is sports mad enjoying playing Football & cricket. He watches a lot of other sports but his team is Barcelona, But Darts stands out for Dan and he has great support from his family, Mum and Dad Chrissie and Mark, and from his big brother Tom.
Dan has time on his side and he is 100% committed to playing big time darts one day
