Gary Anderson has shot up to third in the Premier League table after an incredible night of darts in Liverpool.
He pinched a point against Dave Chisnall, then the Unicorn ace destroyed Peter Wright 7-2 with an average of 113.44
It was a blistering display.
There was also a big win for James Wade over Phil Taylor and a 9 darter for Adrian Lewis!
Anderson was delighted with his three point haul: "There is no doubt that I got away with one against Chizzy but the performance against Peter Wright was needed. I was focused because I knew there was so much at stake and my fate is back in my own hands," he said.
After missing seven darts to go 2-1 up on Wright, the Scot hit top gear as he won six straight legs to storm to victory. Anderson banged in six 180s and a brilliant 126 finish on the bull. A crucial 7-2 victory for Gary.
Anderson though got out of jail against Chisnall. It was a match that he could have won, then should have lost, but he ended up pinching what could be a priceless point!
After trailing 1-3, the Unicorn star won four straight legs to take control including two 12 darters. Chisnall though, was piling in the 180s and he hit two more maximums in the 9th leg on his way to a crucial break.
Anderson then missed four darts at 'tops' and D10 to lead 6-5 and Chisnall pounced. The St Helens man was throwing in the last leg and hit two more 180s taking his tally to eight. But incredibly, Chizzy then missed SEVEN darts to win the match and a grateful Anderson nailed D10 to earn a point.
James Wade was typical James Wade as he carved out a precious 7-5 win over Taylor. He has still got it all to do to reach the play-offs but he is still in the hunt.
Despite a 106 finish from Wade, a 96 check-out for Taylor saw him break to lead 5-3.....but Taylor missed five darts to go 6-3 up and Wade stepped in.
'The Machine' then won four straight legs to storm to victory. He broke Taylor with a 120 finish and a 12 darter, then won the game with another superb 12 darter. Wade only averaged 93.88 but go the job done.
Also on Thursday, Michael van Gerwen pinched a point against Wright. The World Champion was 1-5 down and Wright missed D12 for a 144 finish to go 6-1 ahead.
Adrian Lewis hit a brilliant 9 darter as he saw off Raymond van Barneveld. Lewis nailed the last Premier League 9 darter in Belfast last year and he made it look so easy....180, 180, 141 in the fourth leg.
It was Lewis' 5th televised 9 darter and third on the big stage against the Unicorn man.
Barney didn't do a lot wrong but Lewis was on top form with a 112 average, six 180s and 7/10 on the doubles, plus a 140 finish to add to the 141 on the 9 dart leg.
Van Barneveld hit five maximums of his own and a 128 check-out. But Barney's destiny is still in his own hands as he chases down a play-off spot.
Wright also missed two match darts as the Dutchman came back to draw the game.
