9 dart Gary reaches World Final

Team Unicorn World Champion Gary Anderson is one brilliant performance away from defending his crown.

Anderson produced a stunning display, thrashing Jelle Klaasen 6-0 and he will face Adrian Lewis in the World Championship Final. Lewis took out Unicorn ace Raymond van Barneveld 6-3.

But the Scot did it in style as he hit a 9 darter!

"There was no way that I was going to miss this time!" He said. "I knew I was going to do it. It was only one leg but it set me up nicely for the match."

"I am playing well. But I will have to play even better in the final. And I owe him one don't I after Adrian beat me here in the 2011 Final."

"It is up to me to produce my best darts in the final."

Incredibly Anderson has lost only two sets on his way to Sunday's showdown.

His sensational 9 darter came as he won the opening set....180, 180, 141. This time there was no mistake. Remember the missed a 9 dart chance earlier in the tournament! It was the 9th time it has happened at the World Championship and earns the Scot a £15,000 bonus.

It was imperious from the World Champion. He won the next three sets in deciding legs. An 80 finish to take set two against the darts, then a magnificent 142 to win the third set and a cool D10 to move four sets clear. At that stage he was averaging 110.33

He raced through the fifth set, broke with a 12 dart leg at the start of set six and completed a fabulous victory with an average of 106.42

It was brilliant from Gary Anderson.

Barney just left himself far too much to do this time. He had become the 'Comeback King' at this World Championship but ran out of steam against Lewis.

The Dutchman fought back brilliantly to beat Stephen Bunting, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith, but the semi-final proved a step too far after he fell five sets behind.

And it is a fourth consecutive World Championship semi-final defeat for the Unicorn star. He battled back to restore pride and the 'Barney Army' we're in full voice but Lewis wasn't to be denied.

The big moment early on came in the deciding leg of the second set. Barney had just taken out a brilliant 161 finish and he had the darts to make it one set apiece. But Lewis responded superbly with a 100 check-out which featured two 'tops'.

Van Barneveld incredibly hit another 161 finish to take the opening leg of the fourth set. Lewis though hit the Dutchman with five 180s, a 177 and a 116 check-out. A 9th 180 gave Lewis the fifth set and it looked like it could be a whitewash.

But Barney has been a real battler at this tournament and he went out scrapping! A 112 check-out gave him the sixth set and a 134 finish won him the next. He started the 8th set by nailing a 117 and he clinched it thanks to a 6th 180!

Van Barneveld hit 19 ton plus finishes at this World Championship!

Lewis was getting frustrated but a 15th 180 took him over the finishing line and into the final.

The consolation for Barney is a place back in the world's top 10.....thoroughly deserved and the Dutchman is now World No.9

But now it's all about Gary Anderson and the dam of back-to-back World Championship titles.

S/Final results:

Adrian Lewis 6-3 Raymond van Barneveld
Gary Anderson 6-0 Jelle Klaasen
