Devon targets PDC return

Devon Petersen believes the best is yet to come as he sets his sights on a return to the big time in 2015.

Team Unicorn's South African star has been speaking after leading his country into the quarter-finals of the recent World Cup of Darts.

"It was a fantastic feeling to be with the PDC family again, brushing shoulders with the best in the business and competing against them in Hamburg," he said.

"I have a lot of thinking and planning to do but the World Cup experience, coming after what happened at the World Championship has made me wonder 'what if' I can get that opportunity to propel to me the heights I dream of in darts."

"I very much hope that 2015 will see the return of Devon 'The Spartan' Petersen to the Pro Tour and a future in the sport."

The first target will be winning a place back at the Alexandra Palace in December. The South African qualifiers are held in September. He is hoping to go to Q School in January to win a Tour Card.

At the World Cup of Darts earlier this month in Hamburg, Petersen guided South Africa through to the quarter-finals for the second time. They lost to England and the Unicorn man was edged out by Phil Taylor in a last leg decider.

Petersen was one of the stars of the 2014 World Championship, lighting up the Ally Pally stage with his dancing and his darts!

We will remember him becoming a real star with his amazing walk-ons, dancing on stage and his terrific tungsten performances.....remember, he beat Steve Beaton and Justin Pipe on a great run to the last 16 of the World Championship before he lost to James Wade.

It would be great to see the 27-year-old carving out a successful career in the sport he loves. Watch this space!
