Michael Smith and James Hubbard were the winners of the 4th and 5th PDC Unicorn Youth Tour events in Reading.
Hubbard rounded off a magical week, while Smith secured his second win in the five tournaments so far.
48 hours after being crowned PDC Unicorn Youth World Champion, Hubbard raced to a brilliant win in the first tournament, beating Ben Songhurst 4-1 in the final.....and he dropped only 8 legs in 7 matches en route to the final and the win.
Smith beat Hubbard 4-3 in a thrilling semi-final in the 5th tour event, before the St Helens man proved too good for Jamie Landon in the final, as he clinched a 4-1 victory.
Both Smith and Hubbard pocketed £500 for their tournament wins.
So, there was no repeat of Arron Monk’s heroics from the opening youth tour weekend in Derby, when of course he won two out of the three events.
The former Youth World Champion was beaten in the 2nd Round 4-2 by George Killington in the first tournament of the day in Reading and then lost surprisingly by the same score to James Thompson in the 3rd Round.
His Team Unicorn stablemate Keegan Brown had a decent day and will be disappointed he didn’t get more for his efforts.
Brown had a great run to the semi-finals of Youth Tour 4......he lost only three legs of darts in five matches as he swept aside the challenges of Luke Purcell, Ricky Evans, Steve Haggerty, Harry Miles and Shaun Griffiths.
His semi-final 4-1 defeat to Hubbard was a sense of frustration.....and then in Youth Tour 5, Harry Miles got his revenge as he beat Brown 4-2 in the 3rd Round.
Team Unicorn youngster Dan Read bowed out in round two in both tournaments, losing 4-2 against John Payne and Darren Whittingham respectively.
