He is being tipped as a star of the future!

And 19-year-old Reece Robinson proved again why all the experts believe that he will have a hugely successful career in darts, by winning the 9th PDC Unicorn Youth Tour tournament on Saturday.

He swept to an impressive 4-0 victory over Manchester teenager Shaun Griffiths in the final in Barnsley, to claim his first PDC Youth Tour crown.

Remember last weekend, Robinson made a massive impression at the UK Open Finals, when he beat Barrie Bates, Wayne Mardle and Wayne Jones before he was unlucky to lose in a last leg decider (9-8) to Andy Smith.

And the Hull youngster actually had darts to beat ‘The Pie-Man’ in the last 32 at the Reebok!

Well, his good form continued! Robinson raced through the final, dominating Griffiths from the off, and he won it in style with a two-dart 100 check-out.

“After last weekend, I knew I would be one of the favourites, so there was a little bit of pressure,” Robinson said.

“But this means a huge amount to me. I knew I would have to be at my best to beat Shaun. I have learnt a lot already this year. I got a silly suspension, which is now out of the way and I am concentrating so much on my darts. It is now paying off for me.”

Team Unicorn ace Joe Cullen lost out at the last 16 stage.

Cullen had secured wins over Mark Evans and Ryan Iceton, but was eventually beaten 3-1 by Adam Hunt in the 3rd Round.

Michael van Gerwen was denied a hat-trick of Youth Tour wins, when he was beaten 4-3 by Griffiths in a thrilling semi-final.

But the Dutchman maintains his lead at the top of the PDC Unicorn Youth Order of Merit.

Unicorn Under 21 World Champion Arron Monk didn’t compete in this event in Barnsley.

Results – Quarter-Finals:

Shaun Griffiths 3-2 Scott Taylor
Michael van Gerwen 3-2 Adam Hunt
Adam Smith-Neale 3-1 Sam Hill
Reece Robinson 3-2 Christopher Lawrence

Semi-Finals:

Reece Robinson 4-1 Adam Smith-Neale
Shaun Griffiths 4-3 Michael van Gerwen

Final:

Reece Robinson 4-0 Shaun Griffiths
