Following his visit to the World Championships at Ally Pally with his mate “Freddie” Flintoff, former England cricketer and Strictly Come Dancing star Darren Gough has installed not one, but two Unicorn dartboards at home, one in the house and one in the garage, and plays about 30 minutes a day with his kids.
“At the moment my kids beat me hands down every time, much to the amusement of Freddie, but I aim to change that pretty soon,” says a somewhat frustrated Goughie.
Darren has a great affinity with Team Unicorn players. He first started watching darts in the Lowe and Anderson era, he saw Wade and Newton in action at the Ally Pally and his favourite player is Phil Taylor. His chosen darts are the PT Phase 5 Rosso darts, exactly the same setup as The Power himself.
“Freddie and I have really got the darts bug”, says Gough, “and we will be coming to further PDC events throughout 2011”.
