The Petersfield Academy is now 8/9 months old and we have seen some big improvements from the youngsters. Their throwing skills and their matmatical skills are improving week on week. We took the senior group to the Andover youth singles and our youngsters proved themselves to be very capable of competing at an event of players of a standard equivilent to themselves, 4 members of the Academy made it through to the last 8.

We had our last night before the summer break on August the 3rd and we were pleased to have our Academy President, James Wade on hand to provide a masterclass to the youngsters and to help them improve their game all the youngsters listened to what James had to tell them and we hope they have put this into practice over the summer break and we will see an improvement from when we last saw them nearly a month ago.

So what does the academy have to offer for the last 4 months of this year, well, we are moving into the competition stage of the academy with the junior group playing standard 201/501 games along with some fun game tournaments as well. The seniors will be playing standard 501 games along with handicapped singles, pairs competitions and Charge the Bull among others leading up to our presentation evening in December.

After the great day we had at the Andover Youth Singles last month and on behalf of the Petersfield Academy can i pass on our thanks to Glen, Colin, Mark and their team for a fantastic day, we have decided that we will be holding our own Youth Singles competition in November, more details of this can be found on our website in due course.
