German darting sensation Steffi Luck has joined the sport’s No.1 team – signing up with Unicorn.
Tipped as a future World Champion, the 20-year-old has already won the German Darts Championship and will be a major player at the new PDC Women’s World Championship, when she is expected to be a big threat to fellow Unicorn stars Anastasia Dobromyslova and Irina Armstrong.
Team Unicorn’s Gordon Shumway has described Steffi as: “The greatest talent that I have ever seen!”
Steffi is already wowing the world of Ladies darts and she recently won five consecutive ranking events in Germany.
“I am thrilled to be involved with Unicorn. It is a very big honour for me,” Steffi said.
Steffi is currently a student, living in Dietzenbach, but darts is becoming the main focus. She now practices for at least two hours a day, five days a week and then plays tournaments at the weekends.
Also on her darting CV, apart from that German Darts Championship, Steffi is a county champion, a soft-tip mixed champion and she is fast becoming the woman to beat!
She will be part of the ‘Global’ set-up at Team Unicorn and her meteoric rise to the top of the German rankings is an indicator of how much progress she has made in such a short time.
Shumway added: “I have been involved with darts for 25 years and I have seen some great women players like Anastasia, Irina, Deta Hedman, Francis Hoenselaar, Maureen Flowers and Mandy Solomons but I have to say that I’ve never seen a girl as talented as Steffi Luck!”
Team Unicorn stars James Wade and Phil Taylor are her darting heroes.
Remember the name, because it seems that Steffi is destined for great things in the coming years and Unicorn is backing her to be a major success in the world of women’s darts.
