Arron Monk is already well on his way to win the 2012 PDC Unicorn Youth Tour after yet another big tournament victory.
The Team Unicorn star made it THREE wins in the six youth tour events so far, as he beat Liam Showell 4-2 in the final at Reading on Sunday.
Monk is well clear of the field at the top of the Youth Tour Order of Merit after an impressive victory over 19-year-old Showell.
And he more than made up for a disappointing showing on Saturday’s Youth Tour double-header in Reading.
The former PDC Unicorn Youth World Champion was unstoppable this time!
Monk only lost six legs on his way to beating the Basildon teenager in the final.
His run to the semi-finals saw wins over Ryan Maher (4-2), Jake Jones (4-1), Rhys Hayden (4-0) and then a 4-0 triumph over Team Unicorn stablemate Keegan Brown in the quarter-finals.
Monk then brushed aside the challenge of Adam Hunt 4-1 in the semi-finals and rounded off the perfect day with that 4-2 win over Showell.
Well done again to Arron Monk!
But despite his quarter-final defeat at the hands of Monk, Keegan Brown showed once again why he has a bright future in the sport....and it has been a good weekend after his run to the semi-finals on Saturday.
Brown enjoyed wins against Aaron Bateman, Josh McCarthy, Samuel Head and Harry Miles before losing his quarter-final to Monk.
And his Unicorn Generation 180 friend Dan Read enjoyed his best Youth Tour result....Read reached the 4th Round and eventually lost 4-1 to new Youth World Champion James Hubbard.
The next 3 Youth Tour events take place in Cologne, Germany over the weekend of June 2/3
