CLIMAX IS OVER

Posted by Warren Ackary at 12:00 on 26th August 2007 in UniBlog

Remember awhile back I posted a uniBlog called “How Climactic can you get”? The link to that blog is: http://www.unicorn-darts.com/uniBlog/detail.asp?entry=220#comment

Well yes the climax is over! No 1st ever bionic dart player here unfortunately.

In brief:

I spent 2 hours in front of 20+ specialists in what they called a Monday Morning Conference, apparently its for people like myself who have baffling cases and all the specialists like to come, look and give their expert opinions!

Expert opinions I ask? Well after 44 years of waiting I was hoping this would be the end of the climax… the end of the pain… the start of a normal life and the fact that I would be able to lift my game to new heights, so I assumed seeing that after 44 years there has been phenomenal advances in the world of corrective surgery.

Back to the 2 hour “consultation” after walking around showing off my hand, holding a pen, dart and knife as well as answering numerous questions that seemed to last for ever I was asked to leave the room! Just like some school kid who had been told to leave and wait outside the principal’s office. Was I going to be like this? You darn tootin fella as I had no where to go and wanted to find out what course of action they would take with my hand.

Well I couldn’t believe it, all the specialists, interns and anyone else who came in to see my hand filed out without even a ‘see you later or have a nice day” a class above the rest perhaps?

Well my specialist stayed, that he did! He told me that with all the specialists opinions they all ended up the same after the 2 hours and that was... wait for it. NOT to do a thing!

Can you believe that? I guess it was a very big build up after 44 years and seem to be still falling from hope.

I was told that “Pain Management” would be the best option for me as I don’t really want to go into the full explanation of the negatives as it’s a bad memory. So now I have a goal to set and it’s going to be a long hard road I can imagine!

2008/09, with pain management in place I am going to throw myself into every tournament possible and prove those specialists that even though they may be right, I want to prove that I can up my game and give the selection process to be picked for my State team a good shake. I really think if I get setup right and pour everything I have into darts I can get back to the way I was 20 years ago and perhaps be the “older statesman” of my State Darts team!

I know (and man have I tried) to be a lefty but it wasn’t good and never worked, so with this in mind and as I have just said above I’m going to use 2008/09 to be my “springboard” back into topflight darts.

Rubbish I hear you say! Maybe so but I have to organise the pain management first then from there I will adopt my game accordingly and play to a higher level than I am currently playing, why? Because I know I can! This setback with my hand is just the motivation I need BUT common sense says I must sort out the pain management first.

Well there you have it, waiting for 44 years and still no different but hopefully the pain management thing will supplement the “no go” in regards to an operation, when sorted out… LOOK OUT!
I will keep all readers on the Unicorn uniBlog informed of this seemingly never ending saga and hope fully can keep my words to my wife my readers and myself good and make the NSW State team
